For participants of EMS 2006 who are coming to Toruń through Warsaw
First you will have to reach the Central Station (Warszawa Centralna Station) from Frederic Chopin Airport (former Okęcie Airport). There are the following options:
By taxi - definitely the quickest and the most convenient way. You will find a taxi rank next to the airport exit. The following three taxi corporations cooperate with the airport and are recommended by the airport administration: Merc Taxi (phone: +48 22 677 77 77), MPT Radio Taxi (phone: +48 22 9191), Sawa Taxi (phone: +48 22 644 44 44). The average price of a course between the Airport and the Station is about 30 pln (~ 8 Euros).
MZA bus is the cheaper option. Municipal bus service (MZA) (175, 188 lines) operate seven days a week from early morning until late evening hours:175 line operates 4:58 a.m. - 10:40 p.m. Mon-Fri, 5:01 a.m. - 10:35 p.m. Sat & Sun
188 line operates 4:50 a.m. - 11:20 p.m. Mon-Fri, 4:44 a.m. - 11:20 p.m. Sat & Sun
Night service (line 611) operates 11:39 p.m. - 04:39 a.m. between the airport and Warszawa Centralna railway station (Al. Jana Pawła II).

Since August 11, 2005, all bus terminals are situated at the Arrival Level and the bus stop at Etiuda Terminal is temporarily cancelled due to the airport extension works.

There are a plenty of trains from Warsaw's Central Station (Warszawa Centralna) to the Main Station in Toruń (Toruń Główny).
Visit Polish State Railways Time-table to get the full information on trains.
Types of trains in Poland:
It is possible to get to Toruń from Warsaw by Polski Express - a coach. Most of buses of Polski Express starts from F.Chopin Airport, then there is a change next to the Central Station which is located at John Paul II Alley (in Polish: Al. Jana Pawła II) - see the time-table of Polski Express. Few courses start from Central Station (Al. Jana Pawła II), where one can approach by MZA bus (see section: By train).
A journey to Toruń usually takes at least two hours more than by train, but is comfortable.
There is no airport in Toruń. One can fly from Frederic Chopin Airport to Bydgoszcz which is about 40 km away from Toruń and then take a train to Toruń. Not recommended.
It is not expected to reach Toruń faster then directly by train but the cost is considerably higher.
To get to the town center from the Main Station (Toruń Główny Station) you can take either a taxi or a MZK bus (MZK is a Torunian municipal bus service). A taxi rank is next to the main station, to the left from an underpass leading from the station. A course from the station to the Torunian Old Town costs about 15 pln (~ 4 Euros).
A bus stop is exactly in front of the underpass. There are two lines (numbers 22 and 27) that run between the station and the Old Town. You get off two bus stops from the station on the first bus stop just behind the bridge. One ticket costs 2 pln (~ 0,50 Euros) plus 2 pln for your luggage. The beautiful Torunian Old Town will be exactly in front of you when you get off.
Both lines operate from about 5 a.m. till 10 p.m. seven days a week and the buses run every 10 (monday to friday) or 15 (weekdays and holidays) minutes.
